We believe that New Mexico can create a new direction for
energy in America and provide the solutions to global warming. We can create jobs and long-term economic development in a way that doesn't contaminate our air, water, or land.
New Energy Economy and 1Sky New Mexico are working to:
* Protect public health and our communities by halting or improving coal, uranium, oil, and gas development. We are supporting diverse communities from Lovington to Gallup to Crownpoint to Farmington to Santa Fe in their efforts to halt dangerous mining activities. Nationwide, 1Sky is calling for a complete moratorium on new coal plants unless they can remove all global warming pollution.
* Create new jobs and new opportunities by working to pass strong green jobs legislation that would create high paying clean energy jobs throughout New Mexico. Nationwide, we are calling for the 
creation of 5 million clean energy jobs so that we can rapidly transition to a new energy economy and solve global warmin
* Invest in a new energy future by cutting global warming emissions and improving the efficiency of our homes, vehicles, and communities. NEE and 1Sky are calling for a 25% reduction in emissions below 1990 levels by 2020.
