With the naming of a new appointed PRC, reported yesterday, our work will become more challenging, but we will continue to do the job we are in existence to do: hold the utilities accountable and fight for the public interest, which is synonymous with environmental justice. In 2023 that will mean:
Passage of Local Choice Energy and a bill to require clean closure of the San Juan Coal Plant
A utility rate decrease because solar and wind are cheaper than fossil fuels;
Final closure of coal power for New Mexico, and
To kick Avangrid out for good!
