Solidarity and a new PRC in 2023

With the naming of a new appointed PRC, reported yesterday, our work will become more challenging, but we will continue to do the job we are in existence to do: hold the utilities accountable and fight for the public interest, which is synonymous with environmental justice. In 2023 that will mean:

  • Passage of Local Choice Energy and a bill to require clean closure of the San Juan Coal Plant

  • A utility rate decrease because solar and wind are cheaper than fossil fuels;

  • Final closure of coal power for New Mexico, and

  • To kick Avangrid out for good!

We know you are with us. We are not alone - our beautiful state is filled with amazing artists, thinkers, farmers, and fighters for social justice, and each one of us loves this beautiful land with fierce loyalty. Every day the sun and the enchanted sky and the mountains reminds us what we are fighting for - the breathless beauty of Mother Earth that sustains us all.
