LYNNE FISCHER LEGACY CLIMATE ACTION FUND

Lynne was an extraordinary and accomplished woman who lost her life to cancer in 2020. She was passionate about environmental stewardship and its role in the climate crisis we are facing. Lynne's righteous, yet gentle spirit insisted she be a participant, not a spectator in life. She had an inherent thirst for knowledge and wisdom, and from an early age used it to debate cultural issues with her father. Yet Lynne's character was defined by a Grace and Humility which provided overwhelming evidence that her passions were anchored in truth and love.  

In retirement, Lynne firmly embraced her passion for environmental justice, dedicating herself to making a difference in whatever way she could. With assistance from her brother, she co-created and launched a New Mexico climate action website, designed to help build a coalition around climate action accountability in New Mexico. She became a key player with Retake Our Democracy, to help bring accountability to State and local governments around energy, environment and land use. In addition, Lynne was a champion for New Energy Economy, advocating for clean, renewable energy, as well as holding PNM and the State of New Mexico accountable, to the people of New Mexico, for a healthy environment.

This Legacy Fund is established to continue Lynne's passion and work for the health of our environment, and specifically for effective action to accelerate the transition to 100% renewable power in New Mexico. May she continue to advocate in spirit with your support through the New Energy Economy Team.
