Thank you to the more than 400 people who took action to call on the Governor to line-item veto the outrageous tax exemption for stripper wells that was hidden in HB 252. Your letters were delivered directly to the Governor's Constituent Services, and that effort was joined by more than 25 organizations that signed onto a letter from Western Environmental Law Center detailing the harms that this giveaway to oil and gas producers could have created.
On the final day for passage the Governor exercised her line-item veto authority and passed the long awaited tax overhaul without the dangerous provision exempting 60% of the oil and gas wells in our state from taxation. United we are powerful!
