This letter to the editor claims PNM is trying to "strong arm" the PRC into accepting their coal and nuclear plan with threats of their own decline in credibility, though PNM could have avoided this bind altogether if it had chosen healthier, more realistic energy sources.

PRC must stand strong against PNM plan
Public Service Company of New Mexico is now trying to strong arm the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission into accepting its Stipulation agreement for more coal and more nuclear power, claiming that if the PRC doesn’t approve PNM’s “plan” that Wall Street won’t bless the utility with a good credit rating and workers will lose their jobs. PNM cannot blame the PRC or anyone else for its predicament.
